New Leader of the Movement for the Actualisation for the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Mr Uchenna Madu, has said that the expelled leader of the group, Raph Uwazuruike, lied by saying that he received N500 million gift from the Federal Government.
Through MASSOB National Secretary, Comrade Igwoke Ibem Igwoke, Madu challenged Uwazuruike to make his evidence public or face.
Madu said: “We are aware of the antics of Uwazuruike, but all what we are after now is the release of Nnamdi Kanu” (founder of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB).
He accused Uwazuruike of enriching himself through MASSOB dues and vowed that the new Biafra Independent Movement (BIM) leader would account for all the funds he mismanaged.
Uwazuruike had on Wednesday alleged that the Federal Government, through some politicians in the country offered the sum of N500 million to the Madu-led faction to scuttle the Biafra struggle.
Uwazuruike who disclosed this through his Director of Information, Comrade Sunday Okereafor, maintained that the group was privy to information from a highly placed source that Madu was offered the said sum of money to abort the Biafra protest.
He said: “We have it from a very reliable source and facts that Uchenna was given N500 million by the Federal Government through some politicians.”
